I hope this will be a fun little quiz and there is a prize!!! Please give it a try.
During the Canadian Power Squadron Basic Boating course, I learned the ‘phonetic’ alphabet – at least that’s the term I knew it as when using the call sign of our boat, Victor Golf 9461 during VHF radio calls to other boaters.
I learned something new today! There is a proper term for this alphabet…
So, here is the alphabet – repeat say after me (you NEVER EVER use the word repeat on the VHF radio as it is a ‘code’ word which could get you in trouble)… and see if you can spot the errors (intentional errors and I’m not telling how many).
