Gifts at My Door!

I love this week leading up to Christmas day, especially when exciting presents arrive at my door and in my mailbox!
Yesterday, I came home from taking Pop for a haircut to find a beautiful bouqet of red and white flowers awaiting. Red roses, red tulips, red gerbera’s, white roses, white stalk, salal and cedar completed the most spectacular display and the bouquet looks lovely sitting on my table in the kitchen. I am admiring it as I sit here blogging.

Monday, I sent a tin of homemade shortbread to my 96 year old Auntie Nell in Victoria. She was so pleased and my cousin Jean said she’d eaten 3 of the cookies before Jean had it completely unwrapped! I’m so glad she enjoyed this little gift. As a thank you, Jean, Rollie and Auntie Nell had this lovely bouqet delivered to me. I am enjoying it!
Kent came home from the post office with a box, from Texas. That was exciting enough but when we opened it, we found 6 pounds of pecans in the shell - much to our delight. The pecans shells were all partially peeled to make it very easy to break them open. Kent ate about 2 dozen and I think I had a dozen. They were absolutely delicious - and so fresh.

Our very good friends, Mike and Wendy in Conroe Texas sent them to us. This was an absolutely lovely gift, one we will all enjoy and remember for a long time.
I think these two gifts exemplify the Christmas season. They were both absolute surprises and both a pleasure to receive.

Merry Christmas from another BC’er! Did you get any snow yesterday? We got quite a bit out here in the Valley, but it was gone by mid-afternoon in the rain. I don’t think we’re getting a white Christmas this year.
