Dragonfly Bite

Dragonflies are incredibly beautiful but they scare me.

While power boating last summer, I found this beauty on the inside of the boat window ledge and had to photograph it before trying to gently shoo it outside, without getting bitten. Ya, ya - I know they don’t bite, but they are SO frantic and noisy and big - they remind me of Cicadas. And, what if it flew at my face or worse - my hair. I can imagine a helicopter getting tangled in my hair and then I’d have to… oh, well, never mind.

Take a good look at the brilliant coloring, markings and delicate wings - that’s certainly Mother Nature at her best!

  1. It’s a funny thing, I would hate for one of those to fly at me or land in my hair. But the good thing is that they are a very intricate and beautiful insect. I like watching them fly, just not towards me.

    Cheers.
