Desolation Sound

We left Egmont this morning heading toward Desolation Sound with our friends Bob and Pam aboard. They are from Peru Illinois and were on a business trip to Bend Oregon so we invited them to spend a week with us.

We’ll show them all the fun places we enjoy, catch a few prawn and laze around in the sun! Or not - right now, it’s rather cloudy, but still warm enough to be outside hiking or even swimming.

Two of my favourite places are Squirrel Cove where you can take the dinghy into the Lagoon to play in the warm water, picnic and see millions of sea cucumbers, and Teakerne Arm where we can hike up the hillside, overlook the waterfall and swim in Cassel Lake.
