Would you like to win a Sears $100.00 Gift Card?

I was sent a $100.00 Sears Gift Card as part of a marketing campaign to promote the Sears ‘Don’t Just Give a Gift, Grant a Wish’ program. Sears is my sponsor and provided me the gift card to grant my wish!

How often does someone hand you a shopping spree? Not often enough, right? With my Sears gift card in hand, Crystal and I went shopping last Thursday to Sears in Bellingham Washington to grant a wish - and we found some wonderful gift items. Of course most of them were for us! Here is a slideshow to show you how much fun we had!

Let me tell you, it was a joy playing Santa. I could have spent the $100.00 over and over buying all the coolest gifts for my family, and had a few items in hand, when the Sears campaign ‘Don’t Just Give a Gift, Grant a Wish’ sign and donation forms caught my eye, made me stop in my tracks, and the IZEA lightbulb in my brain lit up.

Is there anyone more deserving of a having their wish granted with a Sears Gift Card than a military family? The ‘Don’t Just Give a Gift, Grant a Wish’ program is a simple way of telling a military family you care for them and appreciate all they sacrifice. When you make a donation (of even one dollar) it benefits the 30,583 families registered in the program and they will be sent a gift card this holiday season to grant their wishes. It’s not only the service men and women who need our thanks, but their families as well - they make such sacrifices for their loved ones to serve in the military, to go overseas and to protect us. There are so many families who won’t see their loved ones at Christmas and the Sears ‘Dont’ Just Give a Gift, Grant a Wish’ program recognizes these families and their needs.

Once I read about this heartfelt program I knew how I was ’spending’ my $100.00! I made 4 twenty-five dollar contributions - talk about a ‘feel good’ gesture… thanks to IZEA and Sears.

When I explained to the cashier about this contest and asked if it was alright to take a few photos, she immediately called as many employees together as possible in a very short time and they all posed with me below one of the ‘Don’t Just Give a Gift, Grant a Wish’ signs. Don’t look too carefully or you’ll see me holding the gift card upside down - heh heh… They were all such good sports - even the girl who didn’t really want to be in the photo!

    I would buy the American Tourister 7 pc Set, Sears item# 01455034000 and give it as a gift when we crown Ms Wheelchair Massachusetts 2009 so she can take it to the Ms Wheelchair America Pageant in South Dakota this summer. For many of the women competing this is the first time that they have travelled via plane for others this is the first time they have left their home state. I think it would be a great way for our new titleholder to focus on advocacy and not purchasing luggage.

    We haven’t had a bed for our 4 years of marriage, just a mattress and recently a foundation (yay!
