Treasure Found at the Garbage Dump

Look what I acquired today!

This guitar was at the ‘Share Shed’ at the Pender Harbour Landfill when I went in to snoop around. Now, I know absolutely NOTHING about guitars but it attracted me so I picked it up and ran my fingers over the strings. It sounded sooooooo pretty, I couldn’t resist taking it over to the office to ask how much. When the girl said $1.00 I grinned at her and said I’d take it!
The last thing I ‘need’ is a guitar. I’m not musically inclined and have no desire to play it, but it’s an absolute treasure to me! It’s been well used, is a little grungy and it’s strings are frayed and hanging – and it needs a good cleaning (in my opinion).

What am I going to do with it? I don’t really have a plan other than to hope some of my family members or friends might pick it up and marvel at the beautiful sounds it makes.

It is amazing what people throw away now a days. Are you going to learn to play the guitar now that you have it?

Wow! I can’t imagine throwing away something so fine. Way to go on rescuing it!
ReplyA quick Google Search makes me think it makes a beautiful noise because it’s a spanish guitar. Those are usually pretty nice. Keep it, you should learn to play. You could become El Mariachi!
