Asia Pacific Tropical Holiday – Thailand?

As the rain sets in I’m thinking of booking a tropical holiday. British Columbia is beautifully green because of the 47 inches of rain we receive each year – think about that – nearly 4 feet of rain! Believe me it gets tiresome when the days are short and it continues to downpour day after day in November, December and January.

I understand Thailand’s rainy season ends October 31 so that would be a perfect place to get away this winter and the prices are reasonable, even in top tourist season. Accor Hotels 3-Day Super Sale Asia Pacific is October 27 to 29 with one million hotel rooms at great rates. This sale includes many Asia Pacific countries such as Japan, China, Australia, Vietnam and Bali.

Why Thailand? I’ve heard so many good things from people who have vacationed there – from the beautiful beaches to the friendly people and affordable prices. $51.00 per night sounds fabulous to me because I just paid an exorbitant $200.00 a night for a hotel room in New York! LOL – I could stay 20 nights in Thailand for the price I paid for 5 nights in NY. Airfare is reasonable now too which fits in perfectly!

Accor is a major global group and the European leader in hotels, operating in nearly 100 countries. This sale is on October 27 – 29 2009 with over one million room nights on sale, with rates starting as low as US$30 per night for stays between December 9 2009 and April 10 2010. Now, that sounds like the start of an affordable vacation to me! Raise your hand if you’ve visited Thailand – do you recommend it as a must-see?
