I was reading a blog posting at Philaahzophy about Stumble Upon and it’s worth.

One of the comments on the article was by my friend Lisa who received 41,000 hits from one of her blog posts which was ’stumbled’! That is a ton of hits - I think the concensus is that Stumble Upon does provide traffic - lots of traffic.

So, you see the little SU symbol at the end of my post? You will see that from now on. UH… nope, didn’t work for me - I had to admit defeat after an hour of trying to get the Stumble Upon symbol in the correct place… no Stumbles for me.

UPDATE!!!

I was surfing with the Entrecard toolbar and happened upon AuthorityDirectory.com where I saw the ‘I Love Social Bookmarking‘ icon with Stumble Upon and numerous other social bookmarking sites. I googled it and found the plug-in and installed it with absolutely no trouble whatsover - and it’s CUTE looking at the end of my post!!!

You can even use it to subscribe to my RSS feed to receive my latests posts via email or in your feed reader. It’s so simple and cute - did I say cute already? Sorry, but it is cute!

Please give me a Stumble or a Digg or whatever… this plugin is GREAT and needs to be shared!

Lunch With John Chow

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

IZEAFest and Orlando are a long way from boating in Beautiful British Columbia and I was asked time and again what my reason was for going to Orlando? My answer of course, was ‘to attend a blogging convention’, but then that always brought up the question, “What is blogging?”.

Blogging, networking and the internet consume so much of my life, I find it difficult to believe so many people don’t know what blogging is all about. Even Kent was amazed to learn of the ‘big money bloggers’, like John Chow from Richmond, who spoke at the convention. The title of one of his posts on his blog reads, “I make money online by telling people how much money I make online” - and he was serious. I’m not going to tell you how much money he makes by blogging, because you probably wouldn’t believe me. You’ll have to go read John’s blog to find out!

I met up again with John and his wife in Las Vegas at BWE08 (another blogging convention) and chatted for a few minutes. He gave me one of his tee shirts and I gave him one of my key chains, then he invited me to attend a Saturday networking luncheon in Richmond - cool huh? You can bet I’ll blog about it when I go!

So, for anyone still wondering if I only went to Orlando to party, please watch the UStream video of the convention seminars (especially my EXTREME Blog Makeover by Matt Blancarte of Unique Blog Designs). I think you will be amazed at the quality and content and will want to start blogging immediately!

The ‘Cashinator’ Blew Me Away!

Drew videoed me in the Market Leverage ‘Cashinator‘ at Blog World Expo. It was soooooo much fun and I WON!!!! You’ll have to watch the video to see how much…

Blog World Expo Las Vegas

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Blog World Expo was even MORE fun today than yesterday, if you can believe it. I have video to prove it… I arrived just after noon to find a wonderful luncheon set out, free drinks and lots of friendly bloggers and exhibitors.

After wandering around, saying hello to numerous people, I sat down at at table with a few other people, made friends quickly and Drew arrived to join us. We went over to the ‘cashinator’ booth so he could video me grabbing the moolah - and I made a good showing (I think) with $17.00 when I exited the air tunnel! Of course, I’d watched others trying to grab the cash and I’d formulated a plan… As soon as the air started, I bent over to let my body ‘catch’ the bills - they stuck to my crotch first, then my stomach then my forehead and I was grabbing madly. Drew probably has a very funny video and I’m sure it will be embarrassing, but it was all in good fun.

Ted and David came by while I was hanging out with Nate from UBD and I just had to video David and Nate doing the long jump and winning prizes. I talked the hostess into a WII game (YES!!!) since I planned to blog this event. I am learning Drew :) Crystal lost her IZEA t-shirt (how is that possible when you are wearing it Crystal?) when we were in Orlando so I begged Ted for a new one for her. He was gracious enough to comply and acted ‘normally’ for this video - no faces, no hamming, no tedding, he was serious. He’s a nice guy! Thanks Ted.

After sitting in the bloggers lounge, talking to Drew for a while, I headed out on the monorail for the Tropicana. Kent was still at the auction and our friends were there with him, so I chose to go there for the rest of the afternoon. I’d say I had free beer, but that wouldn’t really be the truth since Kent bought out the auction… where is he going to put all this STUFF???

After the auction we went back to the Tropicana, had a drink, then we had dinner in the cafe. THEN I lost way too much money in the casino……… tomorrow I will be good!

Blog World Expo Las Vegas

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

I had so much fun hanging out at Blog World Expo today with Julie, Drew, Ted and David. The booths were very interesting to visit with lots of free stuff being handed out. I found lots of people there to talk to, saw many people I knew and I now have tons of stickers, pens and T-shirts!

Do you twitter? I recently found a blogger friend on twitter and started following him and he followed me back. Imagine my surprise today to see his twitters from BWE08. Yes, he was there, in the same building - and it was so simple to find him, even though I’d never met him. This is my friend KT Cat! Thanks twitter for making it possible for us to meet in person!

And, here is ‘Just Julie‘, another blogger friend whom I met last year at PostieCon. It was great to catch up with her and her husband.

Ted has an awesome camera and was taking shots all round the room, using a tripod. It zooms in so close, it’s much like using a telescope! Don’t be picking your nose tomorrow while sitting in the BWE08 blogging lounge or you might find your picture here!

This is my friend Drew whom you may know as BenSpark. He gave me the XSHOT 2.0 Camera Extender at IZEAFest last week and I’m trying it out in this picture. It’s a 3 foot telescoping extension which screws to the bottom of my camera.
