Spring has sprung here in Beautiful British Columbia!
Hugo went to the beach today with his Mom and Dad to enjoy the sun, sand and water. He loves digging in the mud with his paws and his face, for anything he sees or smells, and doesn’t mind the taste of saltwater. He had a great day but was shivering from the cold water after 15 minutes.

You may have figured out from some of the posts I write Kent and I are boaters! Yes, really - we love boating and spend May to September aboard our boat, traveling the BC coast, fishing, prawning and holidaying.
We enjoy having friends and family join us from time to time and thought we had the ultimate boat - a 39 foot Bayliner with 2 staterooms and 2 heads. It was fabulous the first 2 years and it slept 6 comfortably enough.
BUT, we ended up crowded and had very little storage room for ’stuff’, especially since we lived aboard much of the time, and when we had company aboard, I had to just let it all be - there was no where to store bags, clothes toys, suitcases, coats, food, etc…. so you know where I’m going…
Anyone who knows me, knows I’m particular (that’s a nice way of saying “CLEAN UP YOUR STUFF - OR IT’S GOING OVERBOARD” and everything needs to be in it’s place at all times.
Well, our family has expanded in the past 4 years and we finally got a KLU - and you know it takes 10 KLIKS to make a KLU, and we made the decision to buy a larger boat. That sounds pretty logical and easy, right?
Kent put our boat on the market a little over a year ago. We had lots of soft interest as our boat is as near perfect as a 5 year old boat can be. I think I said before I cleaned it top to bottom with a toothbrush - Kent’s of course, and we always kept things in good condition.
Well, it sold - it’s a done deal, the money is in the bank, and our offer has been accepted on a 52 foot Bayliner. The boat is in Baltimore - yes, that Baltimore - Maryland - a LONG way from Beautiful British Columbia!
Here’s where it gets a little tricky, but if everything CLICKS Kent will fly to Baltimore, to be present for the marine survey, and if all goes well, I’ll join him and we’ll head off down the Intracoastal Waterway, with Fort Lauderdale being our destination.
From there, the boat will be loaded on a freighter, head across the Caribbean, travel through the Panama Canal, into the Pacific Ocean, around Mexico and up the West Coast to Victoria.
Of course, I’ve over simplified the whole process so I won’t bore you to tears, but that’s our general plan.
So, my question to y’all, “Does anyone out there in bloggerland know anything about the inland waterway? ” If you live on or near the waterway, what can you tell me about it, about the marinas, about the facilities or about the sights and tourist attractions?
I know we can research much of it online - but there’s nothing like hearing it from the horse’s mouth too!

Mo from It’s a Blog Eat Blog World puts out a new word each week for his Minions to use to write a post. The word this week is ‘Blow‘.
I could have written a long, blown out story about how the wind was blowing this winter or how I blew wind at the wrong moment, but thought I’d keep it simple because I know y’all will blow a lot of hot air around this particular topic and I KNEW I couldn’t write the first thing that came to mind!
So, the second thing to come to mind when I read the word ‘blow’ was this song by Neil Young!
I downloaded “Four Strong Winds” from Imeem. It’s a very easy site from which to download music to your blog. So far, it’s come through with every song I wanted!
It isn’t, really. The color yellow is a purely human interpretation of a collection of radiation that hits the retinae of our eyes and gets processed by our visual cortex.
I found this at Ask the Astronomer, Dr. Sten Odenwald. He has some very interesting information about astronomy - just about anything you could wish to know!
