Need help at your next conference? I’m a great assistant, liason, hostess or ‘go-fer’, and I love to be useful and to help wherever needed.

In August 2009 Missy Ward and Shawn Collins of Affiliate Summit invited me to be the “BlogHaus Mistress” in New York. As the hostess/liason I was responsible for meeting and greeting media, bloggers and speakers, providing information, a fun atmosphere, twittering and blogging the events which took place. Here’s a video of the Gary Vaynerchuck ‘Thumb War’ action which I caught and posted to YouTube. My pictures of ASE09 are on Flickr and Facebook. You may also read my posts by doing a search on my sidebar for ASE09.

Following is the description of the Blogger’s Lounge, as per the ASE09 New York Agenda.

“The Blogger’s Lounge is an area reserved for credentialed bloggers/press to grab some desk space, blog, interview, relax and network. Heather Smith will be the BlogMistress of the Affiliate Summit Blogger’s Lounge, where she’ll be acting as liaison between Affiliate Summit and the press and bloggers attending the show.

In November 2009, I attended ad:tech New York on a Press Pass, covered a number of seminars and guest posted for Steve Hall of Adrants on the ad:tech Blog as an official post contributor.

My published posts were:

Yankees and Clickbooth VIP Party Were Both Winners at Pacha ad:tech New York, Shelly Palmer Kicked Butt at ad:tech Digital Boot Camp, Time Travel with Mazda at ad:tech, Sponsored Tweets at ad:tech and Building “The Great Barrier Reef” Brand.

February 9 2010 Steve Hall of Adrants wrote this letter of recommendation:

I’ve known Heather Smith for a couple of years and have had the pleasure of working with her as well. Heather is extremely knowledgable about marketing and social media and she put that knowledge to use when I asked her to be one of the bloggers for the ad:tech show blog for the New York conference in November 2009.

Heather attended five conference sessions and then wrote summary articles with insight and interpretation for the blog. She is one of the best and most knowledgable writers I have had the pleasure to work with over the years.

In January 2010 I was the ‘BlogHaus Mistress’ of Affiliate Summit West, in Las Vegas, having been contracted once again by Missy and Shawn. I hosted the Blogger Lounge for 3 days, January 16, 17 and 18. My duties were the same as ASE09 New York, providing information and acting as liason between ASW10 and the press/bloggers and speakers, while creating a fun atmosphere.

2009 was my year as an IZEA Insider and I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge, made life-long friends and attended seminars at conventions such as PostieCon 07, BlogWorld 07, ASW08, IZEAFest 08, BlogWorld 08, ad:tech San Francisco 09, ASE09, IZEAFest 09, ad:tech New York 09.

“The IZEA Insiders are comprised of a group of bloggers specifically handpicked to represent the IZEA Community to the blogosphere.

Because they’re looked to as leaders within the IZEA Community they get the “inside scoop” on new products and platform enhancements, often receive information before other users or the general public, share knowledge about social media marketing with their blog readers and followers, and attend industry conferences and events in an effort to improve their skills as social media experts.

IZEA Insiders also work on the more prominent social media campaigns like Sears and Bumble Bee, and regularly participate in promotional programs and product samplings.”

Being an ambassador for IZEA has opened many doors for me and provided me with fabulous opportunities to take part in the blogging and advertising world. Ted, Ashley, IZEA and their posties have filled my life to overflowing with knowledge, friendliness, enthusiasm and enjoyment!

If you need my help, send me an @HeatherinBC message on Twitter (I have 24,000 + followers) or fill out the contact form below. I would be pleased to discuss with you how I may help promote your business or products. Would you like to sponsor me to attend a conference? I will wear your shirt, blog, network with fellow bloggers, twitter and post to Facebook, in exchange for air, hotel, conference fees and a small stipend for expenses. I’m available to travel nearly anytime, on short notice but prefer a few weeks notice.
