Toby Keith Concert

Here are a few more photos from the October 3 2008 Toby Keith concert at GM Place in Vancouver.

This is Jessie Farrell, first up to get the show underway. Her little blue dress was cute, but I can’t say as much for her brown boots. Of course, I was a long way from the stage so perhaps they looked good up close!

Norma enjoyed the private service! Actually, we all did with beer, wine, a cheese platter and satay chicken. When the server came with our bills toward the end of the evening she opened her file folder to give me my visa bill to sign but she couldn’t find my visa card. I thought she’d dropped it under the table but it wasn’t there. Just then a woman opened the door of the suite, came in and handed the card to me saying she’d seen it fall out of the servers folder in the hallway. WHEW! How lucky I was to have an honest person pick it up from the floor - or perhaps it was the server who was LUCKY. She would have had to be out bright and early Monday morning doing some futures trading to pay off the ‘bill that could have been’!

Albert and Chris were hamming it up for the photographer, but I caught a good shot of them anyway! Look at the lovely leather furniture and the decor - it was awesome.

Toby Keith Concert was Awesome!

Crystal drove me to Albert and Norma’s and I rode with them and their friend Chris to GM Place. Albert had a special parking pass which allowed us into the underground parking, right next to the elevator. It was so nice to bypass the cars waiting in line like they were trying to get to 2008 Black Friday to spend their money. We parked in the nearly deserted lot, our tickets were checked and into the elevator we went. Once out of the elevator, our tickets were checked again and we went directly the box. No lineups, no crowds… and absolute luxury!

What a box it was! It belongs to Mrs. Griffiths - as in the Griffiths’ family who financed the building of GM Place in 1995. The box suite holds 20 people but there were only 4 others there when we arrived. By concert time it was nearly full.

We ordered food and drink from our private server and sat at the bar to watch the concert. Jessie Farrell was the first opening act. Unfortunately the video feed was not working so the big screen was dark. Jessie had on a glittery blue dress with what looked like a tulle skirt and brown cowboy boots. She’s a red haired little siren and put on a great show.

Aaron Pritchett was up next and he really rocked the house, getting the crowd in the party mood with his “Let’s Get Rowdy” and in the beer drinking mood with “Hold My Beer“. He is a performer I’d go see in concert as his energy was amazing and his songs were fun and ummmmm… well, just look at him!

After a short intermission, the stage was reset with a huge curtain and as the lights dimmed a video started - with Toby Keith planning the action of his movie - “Beer For My Horses“. It was redneck hilarious and so much fun, I definitely want to see the movie. Of course any movie with Willie Nelson is on my must see list.

I videoed so many of the songs my camera battery died so I didn’t even get to the end of the concert where the absolute best songs were. Weed With Willie, I Love This Bar, How Do You Like Me Now, Red, White and Blue, You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like This and I Wanna Talk About Me - oh and, Get Drunk and Be Somebody were all so much fun and the crowd was crazy. With the amount of smoke in the air (rising to the upper floor where we were sitting) we were all on quite a high!

Hopefully my videos will give you an idea of the talent, charisma and showmanship put on by Toby Keith.

Toby Keith Concert

Kent and 6 of his guy friends left this afternoon on the boat for a golfing weekend. Can you imagine 7 men on a boat together for 2 and a half days? It’s drizzling, but that sure didn’t dampen their spirits on as they have Texas Hold ‘Em and plenty of beer and food which will all make up for the

I’m off to a Toby Keith concert at GM Place tonight, with friends and am looking forward to a great show! We’re in a very special box (I don’t know if I can tell you whose it is, but if I can, you’ll hear about it later ;)

Time to get all gussied up and put on my high heels. See ya later!

Noise Reduction Head Set for Dragon Naturally Speaking

This morning I received great news!

My blog and I have been selected to write/video a sponsored opportunity for Dragon Naturally Speaking 10. If you haven’t heard of DNS, let me tell you more…

DNS is voice recognition and translation software which translates the spoken word into word documents - at up to 150 words per minute. I know I can’t type that fast but I certainly can speak quickly! Imagine the documents I will be able to create. I first heard of this software years ago when my cousin had Carpal Tunnel and could not type - she was very impressed at that time and it’s come a long way since. Ina few days I will be receiving a key to the software and will be required to review the program, create a video demonstrating using Dragon Naturally Speaking and post it here to my blog.

In order to use DNS, I require a noise reduction headset with microphone so I went to Staples this morning to buy one. It wasn’t cheap, but it works great. I discovered I can now create .wav files then attach them to emails to send you a voice message, but even more exciting I’ll soon be recording my family history using DNS.

Come back soon to see the innovative idea I have for putting Dragon Naturally Speaking into action at my house!

This grotesque looking creature was part of the ‘Fall’ display at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. After a summer of gardening, prawning and boating my hands, feet and face feel like he looks.

Don’t let your children see these pictures, okay? They might think there’s one of these guys in all the pumpkin patches - YIKES!
